March 16th 2024 Outbound Mail OutageI have decided to move the clearnet relay server from one box to another, and this involves the new one having a new IP address. This has led to an issue with outbound mails as the reverse lookup for that IP is going to take some hours from now (around ~6am UTC on the 16th of March) to propagate. I have thusly disabled the mail servers outbound access for now, because with the reverse lookup descrepency mails will appear just like spoofed ones to all other hosts. I will at some point once seeing that the reverse lookup changes have propagated then bring back outbound mail access. At the moment, you can still send mails but the server won't be able to pass them on to other hosts until I have done this. Sorry for the issues, I should have planned a different approach to this switchover. What is done is done, so be patient. Update: the changes have began to propagate and outbound access for email is restored. Infantile mail will reattempt sending mails in due season, over the next few hours or so. Update ~6:30am UTC: I was celebrating a bit too early, the new VPS comes with outbound port 25 (email access) blocked to prevent spam. I have to wait for support to unblock this, but things will start working as soon as they do. Update ~7:30am UTC: VPSag's cheapest servers do not allow outbound access on port 25, so this entire ordeal was a useless exercise and so I have rolled back all of my changes. Things will now run as they normally do, and have been tested. |
